I believe we give money WAY too much control over our lives. I want you to know the joy of feeling confident about your money and just how freeing it can be because, we ain’t got time to be stressed out! Shame, guilt and embarrassment don’t have a place here at The School of Betty. I’ll meet you where you are and lead with gratitude and love.

BRI’S TIMELINE
FIRST CREDIT CARD AT 18
My money lessons sounded like: “Credit cards are bad.” So, naturally I got one and immediately went to CD Warehouse. #yolo
WENT TO COLLEGE
I took that credit card to college and added a few more and began building a pretty solid shopping habit. Like, hide the bags, kinda habit.
MOVED TO NYC
Bought a one-way ticket and moved to NYC to build my career and a love of really expensive, fancy coffees full of sugar.
$50K IN DEBT AT 23
All of a sudden, I found myself doing the thing I said I wouldn’t do…struggle with my money. It felt crappy and I wasn’t sure what to do.
CREDIT CARD DEBT FREE
I used my grit and willpower and created a spreadsheet and started with my smallest card first. I paid off the credit cards in less than 3 years.
MOVED TO DENVER
I got married and we moved to Denver. We were credit card debt free and saving to buy a house. I thought I had it all figured out.
NO SHOPPING FOR A YEAR
I wasn’t working, my husband was laid off, and we had $247 in our checking. Obviously, I did NOT have it figured out, so I gave up shopping for a year. And it.was.HARD!
SAVED $20,000
The hardest & most rewarding year. I realize the connection between our habits, emotions, and behaviors and our money. My mind was exploding. Budgets were bandaids. What!?
CREATED THE SCHOOL OF BETTY
I would help any friend with their budget and was preaching the no shopping gospel. I felt called to help as many women as possible and created The School of Betty LLC.
HOLY PANDEMIC
After 4 years of side-hustling The School of Betty, I left my job at a performing arts center to do my thing full time. The Pandemic makes a flashy entrance and the world flips upside down. I lean in to utilize Betty to help as many women as possible.
DIVORCED AT 41
Pandemic eventually removed all of the distractions I used to not pay attention to what I needed. I find myself heading into a divorce, living by myself for the first time and experiencing grief like I have never felt before. I was raw.
BEING A HEART PIONEER
I began listening to my heart and allowing my soul to guide me to deeper healing. The School of Betty begins to reflect a more heart-centered, healing method to money relationships. And this is where we are today.
