A Leap of Faith
I took a leap of faith this month. Actually, I took it in February when I joined a women’s 6 month mastermind group. We’ve been meeting weekly via video conference calls and have been diving deep into our ish. Whether it’s personal or related to our business, we talk about it, support one another and hold space.
This can be uncomfortable, and also incredibly powerful.
Part of this mastermind was to meet in Chianti, Italy for a week long retreat (that’s where I’ve been!). But before we could get to Italy, we would have to work hard and go through some hurdles, both emotionally and physically. For many of us, just getting there would be tough.
By the time I arrived in Florence, Italy to meet the group, I had been up for 30 hours and had been traveling for 26. I was exhausted and really sweaty (sorry to the sir who sat next to me on the train from Milan to Florence...I’m sure that wasn’t pleasant..), tired, homesick, and not sure what to expect.
And then I met all of these beautiful ladies in person and it was like we had known each other our entire lives. We stayed in a monastery in the heart of Chianti Classico and started our mornings with yoga and meditation and filled the days with women’s circles, visiting art museums, wineries, relaxing by the pool and eating dinner together every night. It was magical.
We laughed, we cried and we danced in a space that held 1,000 years of prayer and each of us are coming back from this journey feeling a bit more whole.
Leaps of Faith
This commitment, this trip, this openness to be vulnerable was a big leap of faith for me. And it is fitting that I think back on this time a year ago, when I started sending this weekly email to anyone who would read it. Another leap of faith. The start of The School of Betty.

Moral of the Story
There were many reasons I could have said no to both the trip and starting The School of Betty, and fear was the biggest one. Fear of potentially failing or...fear of discovering something new, and perhaps uncomfortable on the other side.
Jump over the fear my friend. Take the leap. Go towards whatever is calling your heart because what is on the other side is going to be magical.
Thank you for being here with me on this journey. It means the world.
